Item 2.02.     Results of Operations and Financial Condition

On January 8, 2018, NMI Holdings, Inc. issued a news release to provide guidance on the expected financial impacts of the recently enacted 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. A copy of the news release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.

NMI Holdings, Inc. Provides Guidance on Expected Impact of Tax Reform
EMERYVILLE, CALIF., January 8, 2018 -- NMI Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMIH) today provided guidance on the expected financial impacts of the recently passed 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
As a result of a reduction in the federal corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%, the company expects to record a one-time, non-cash charge related to the re-measurement of its deferred tax assets and liabilities. The charge is expected to be approximately $13 million to $15 million and will be reflected in the company’s income tax expense for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2017. The company expects that the new corporate tax rate will provide significant benefits to its tax expense in 2018 and future periods.
